The Seventh National Summit of the Health and Population Scientists in Nepal” was organized by the Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) with a theme “Research in Public Health Emergencies: Evidence to Policy and Action” on 01-02 July 2021. The summit was a continuum of the previous summits as an annual gathering to provide a platform for researchers and academicians to share recent and relevant health evidence, and policymakers to interact with researchers and academia to share and discuss recent evidence on national health priorities. The main objective of the summit was to foster networking and knowledge exchange between policymakers and health and population scientists and to encourage health and population scientists, and practitioners to collaborate, innovate and promote research on current health priorities in Nepal. Findings from various studies were presented in 10 sessions of two-day conference. HERD International also participated in the conference. Managing Director of HERD International, Dr Sushil C Baral chaired one of the sessions titled “Interdisciplinary and Implementation research. Similarly, Research Manager of HERD International Dr Sampurna Kakchapati also presented on “Research Studies on COVID-19 and Health Emergencies” where he shared “spatial and temporal patterns of COVID-19 in Nepal”. The conference concluded issuing a 10 point declaration.
