Mr. Anil Dhungana is a Public Health professional with over 9 years of extensive experience in strengthening local government health systems. His expertise spans health governance, policy and program planning, and promoting evidence-based decision-making. With a focus on nutrition, health, and Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), he has collaborated with both national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as the government, in program management, planning, and implementation.
Currently serving as a Research Coordinator at HERD International in Kapilvastu, Mr. Dhungana is dedicated to building resilient health systems. His primary role involves assisting municipalities in making evidence-informed decisions for quality improvement and ensuring equitable health service delivery.
In his previous roles, Mr. Dhungana provided technical assistance in reproductive health at Sandhikharka Municipality with NHSSP. He also coordinated nutrition-sensitive activities as a Field Coordinator with the Suaahara II program in Dolakha. Additionally, he supported local health governance as a Program Coordinator with RTI/Health for Life. His diverse experience extends to WASH projects with Action Contre La Faim, where he ensured quality implementation and provided support during various studies in the earthquake recovery phase.
Mr. Dhungana has also worked within the government sector as a Public Health Officer at the District Health Office, Arghakhanchi. His experience reflects his dedication to contributing to the enhancement of public health through strategic planning, program management, and collaborative decision-making.
