Ms. Aavashana Dahal is a dedicated Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Officer with extensive experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and public health research in Nepal. With a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of West London, Ms. Dahal has over 5 years of expertise in utilizing evidence to inform health policy and programmatic decisions.
In her previous role, she had played a crucial role in advancing SRHR initiatives by synthesizing research findings into actionable policy recommendations. She has developed impactful advocacy materials in Nepali, successfully engaging diverse stakeholders to support critical health agendas. Notable projects include collaboration with the Guttmacher Institute to enhance safe abortion policies in Nepal and leading qualitative research on adolescent reproductive health to capture essential insights from youth.
Ms. Dahal’s experience also encompasses managing comprehensive monitoring and evaluation efforts, data validation, and supporting service delivery improvements across various health facilities alongside being a global lead for online data tracking system. Ms. Dahal strongly believes in the power of research to bridge the gap between findings and policy implementation, and, through her work, she continues to promote evidence-based practices that foster improved health outcomes in Nepal.
