Deepak Paudel

Advisor – Multidisciplinary Systems and Policy

Dr. Deepak Paudel is a distinguished public health professional and health systems researcher with over 24 years of experience in applying systems thinking in health and social sector. As a leader in this field, he has designed, managed, and successfully completed complex projects, contributing to many areas within the health system and beyond, including maternal and child health, family planning, nutrition, HIV, TB, malaria and climate resiliency.

Using various systems focused approaches and tools, such as human-centered design, sustainability planning framework, and the WHO-INTEGRATE Framework for decision making, Dr. Paudel led the process to design and deliver complex and large-scale projects such as the USAID’s flagship health systems strengthening and the Global Fund grants to combat HIV, TB and malaria in Nepal. Using various systems approaches, he has supported the development of national and provincial health policies and strategies, including the National Health Sector Strategic Plan 2023-2030.

Throughout his career, Dr. Paudel has built an excellent professional network with the Government of Nepal, donors, international organizations, academia, and civil societies. His expertise encompasses strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, systems strengthening, grant management, governance, policy formulation and reviews, and implementation research. Leveraging his vast knowledge, experience and network, he drives organizations towards impactful results.
