HERD International hosted the South Asia Regional Writing Workshop to strengthen the capacity of early-career researchers to produce peer-reviewed research outputs. The workshop is part of the Community-led Responsive and Effective Urban Health Systems (CHORUS), a research programme consortium working in Bangladesh, Ghana, Nigeria, and Nepal in strengthening urban health systems to address double burden of diseases.

CHORUS promotes innovative research projects through the Innovation Fund Scheme, which offers leadership opportunities to early-career researchers to independently implement research projects and produce high quality research outputs. To this end, the regional writing workshop offered insights into research topic identification, setting appropriate research questions and methodology, building arguments in discussion, and selecting appropriate journals for publication. Researchers and facilitators from ARK Foundation, BRAC JPG School of Public Health at BRAC University, the University of York, the University of Leeds, and HERD International participated in this event from 16 to 19 September, 2024.
